Who Am I?

 

    The first question we need to ask ourselves is "Who am I?" We are all children of God, meaning we are sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. 

    In the book, Launching Leaders, it talks about the cycle of spiritual guidance. In this cycle we learn about to discover your identity, trust your inner voice, have faith to act right away, be at peace with heaven's timing, and live well. We need to have knowledge of where we came from. We need to make sure we are taking time to be listening to God's responses to our questions and seeking his guidance in our lives. As we recognize the influence of the Holy Ghost, we are more willing to follow through what God is telling us we need to trust Him and show our willingness to do His will in His timing. As we live our lives we need to move forward in faith and trust in God's timing and will for us. We need to have peace with the decisions we are making.

    In the book Hero's Journey, I loved the story, "The Golden Touch", in this story there was a king who was obsessed with gold and treasures, and he wished that everything he touched would turn into gold and one day he accidentally turned his daughter into gold. He realized that gold was nothing compared to his daughter's life and the love he had for her. He tried eating but everything he would try to eat would turn into gold and he realized that gold was nothing compared to being able to eat and drink water to live. Life is so much more precious than gold and he realized that and humbled himself and he was able to turn everything back into the way it was, and he got his daughter back.
